A Filipina who is suspected to have beaten to death her friend’s 3-year-old son was sent behind bars.
On Monday, the Pyeongtaek Police said that the case is under investigation and the 30-year-old woman was already detained.
Her acquaintance is from the United States Forces in Korea (USFK), police said, adding that the parent has left his two children, aged seven and three, under the Filipina’s watch.
At around 7:30 in the morning on Sunday, the Filipina has allegedly beat the 3-year-old in her room that was provided to her by a bar she is working with. The 7-year-old, meanwhile, was safe.
The victim was found dead by the bar owner at around 8:00.
They informed the police about it, which immediately launched a search for the woman.
The suspect was found to have been picked up by another police station as she was reported to have been wandering in public without clothes on, The Korea Times reported.
She admitted to the killing of the child when interrogated but answered vaguely when the questioning continued.
The National Forensic Service will be requested by the police to do an autopsy to the victim to identify the cause of death. The prosecution, meanwhile, will be asked for an arrest warrant for the woman.
